Co-op Class Details

Computer Programming

$120 ($60/semester)

This class will be an intro into computer programming for the high school student. It will cover topics like, structured query language, object-oriented programming, C#, Java, Powershell, and intro to HTML.

Class Materials: A Windows laptop would be required with a 1.8 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM (8GB recommended), minimum of 800 MB of hard disk space (typical installations require 20-50 GB of free space.)

Government/Economics

$150 ($75/semester)

Students will explore the government of the United States from its beginning to the present with special emphasis on the Biblical pattern for government and on the U.S. Constitution. Students will tour the world of economics to hopefully become a better steward and informed contributor to the economy on the personal, household, local, national, and international level. In this class, students will earn 1/2 credit for  Government and 1/2 credit for Economics. This will count towards high school social studies credits.

Class Materials: Students will need Exploring Government and Exploring Economics from Notgrass. You can also purchase the Student Reviews for each book if your student prefers to have their weekly questions in the workbook. (Please note: there is no space to write answers in these books. They are simply the questions.) Copies will be made for those that do not purchase the review books. Students will also need a notebook for each semester. (Only ONE set of textbooks is necessary for each family.)

Biology

$360 ($180 due semester 1, $180 due semester 2)

This is a high school level Biology class with full labs. This class will earn students one full credit in high school sciences.

Class Materials: We are using a co-op program developed by Journey Homeschool Academy. Materials and lab kits will be ordered by the teacher.

World History

$120 ($60/semester)

This class is designed for grades 5-8. From Adam to Us uses narrative style writing to engage students in the history of our world. This class will only cover Part 1 of this course.

Class Materials: Students will need From Adam to Us Part 1. There is no need at this time to purchase Part 2. Students will also need the Map Book and the Timeline Book. These resources are so valuable in this course! A notebook and colored pencils will also be helpful. All other parts of the curriculum will be provided. (Families only need to purchase ONE textbook. EACH student will need a Map Book and a Timeline Book.)

Note: If your 5th grader would be more comfortable in the elementary class, that is perfectly acceptable!

Life Science

$120 ($60/semester)

This class is designed for 6-8 graders. It will be a unit based class using The Good and the Beautiful curriculum. The first unit students will cover is Kingdom and Classifications. Other units that will possibly be covered are Botany, Ecosystems, Arthropods, and Birds.

Class Materials: For this class families have the option to purchase units or pay an additional $10 fee per unit, and the school will print it for you (Copies will be black and white. Purchased units are in full color.) Additional resources and read alouds are optional. These will be available in co-op classes. (Only ONE unit is needed per family.)

Our 50 States

$90 ($45/semester)

This class is designed for 1st – 4th graders. (5th graders welcome) It takes elementary students on a journey across our country, introducing them to the natural wonders, the fascinating places, the factories, the farms, and the people that make America.

Class Materials: Students will need Our 50 States textbook and Atlas Workbook for the class. Colored pencils will also be helpful. All other materials will be provided. ((Families only need to purchase ONE textbook. EACH student will need an Atlas Workbook.)

Physical Science

$90 ($45/semester)

This science class will be for students in grades 1-5. It will be a unit based class using The Good and the Beautiful curriculum. The first unit students will cover is Space Study. This unit will take approximately 8 weeks to cover. Other possible units are Water and Our World and Meteorology.

Class Materials: For this class families have the option to purchase units or pay an additional $10 fee per unit, and the school will print it for you (Copies will be black and white. Purchased units are in full color.) Additional resources and read alouds are optional. These will be available in co-op classes. (Only ONE unit is needed per family.)

Art Show

Theater
Agape Academy offers a Theater class for students in grades 4-12. This class teaches basic theater techniques, such as stage presence and confidence, projecting to your audience, improvisation, stage combat, audition training and more. The class meets once a week on Thursday afternoons from 4-6 pm. Students in this class will perform in 1-2 productions throughout the school year. The fee for this class is $20 per student per month. Piano

Agape Academy offers piano lessons for students ages 5 and up at the beginner and intermediate levels. Lessons are offered on Wednesdays at Agape and are $15 for a 30 minute lesson. If you are interested, please contact Agape Academy.
