This is the week that most Gospel Communities are meeting. The Group led by the McConnells and Jenkins are meeting tonight (in Central Pinson), the Group led by the Smiths and the Knowles (in Trussville) are meeting tomorrow night, and the group I’m part of is meeting Friday night at the Fargarson’s home in northeast Pinson (near Clay). If you would like any sort of info on any of those groups, please let me know, and I can help you. If you haven’t been to a Gospel Community yet – let me push you to go this week! You won’t regret it, unless you accidentally have an anvil fall on your foot while you are attending. ;)
Also, As of this week, we now have a calendar on our website, so please check it out for more details on Agape’s coming events. We’ll spend some time talking about those upcoming events this Sunday. http://agapepinson.com/updated-calendar/
This past Sunday, we took an in depth look at 1 Peter 4:8-9 8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.
One way to love each other deeply (and to offer hospitality) is to care for those who are going through trials. Kadie Ballentine is a young lady that has been coming to Agape for a short time, and she lives with her mom and dad in our area. Kadie’s mom had a seizure yesterday, and had to be rushed to the hospital. She is home now, but still recovering. Wouldn’t it be great if some of us reached out to the Ballentines with food and love? I know you don’t know them (though they might have visited a time or two) but this is a great way to show Kadie our love, and to reach out to her parents. How about a few of us put together a meal and take it by the Ballentine house? If you are shy, you can put together a meal and bring it to my house, and I’ll get it to the Ballentines. For more details, including an address and phone number – PLEASE EMAIL ME BACK.
Finally: Turkeys! Don’t forget that we are collecting turkeys to give away to people at this week’s food pantry (Sunday). Can you donate some turkeys? If so, please be sure and reply back and let me know. We currently have six turkeys donated, and are in need of some more.
Here’s Lisa’s original letter about Kadie: Hey everyone,Kadie Ballentine (who comes to our Gospel Community group), her mom had a seizure today. As such, we thought it would be helpful to provide a meal or two for them. They will be at doctor appointments for the next few days. Patti won’t be able to do anything and Rob is so worried about her that I don’t know what he will be able to do.I am going to take them a meal tomorrow before our Gospel Community group. If you would like to add a side or dessert, or prepare something for another day, just let me know. I can come pick it up or you can drop it off after I get home. I’ll probably take something on Friday or Saturday, so if that works better, let me know that too. (I know Thursdays are hard for most of you.)Thanks in advance for showing love to this family….Lisa.
See you Sunday!
